Start your romantic dinner with a strawberry spinach salad. They are healthy and beautiful.

The strawberries remind us of hearts and love and they pack a vitamin C punch. The spinach, full of wonderful nutrients including iron is more likely to be absorbed by your body with the vitamin C from the strawberries. Add olive oil, white wine vinegar, and almond slivers to top off this delicious, nutrient dense starter.

For your main meal try this delicious Valentine’s Salmon dish. Salmon is considered one of the world’s healthiest foods. Salmon contains omega-3 fats, vitamin B12, vitamin D, and many more key nutrients. The recipe above suggests potatoes as the side dish. Many people look down on potatoes but they are actually a nutrient dense food as well. A medium potato is about 150 calories and contains 70% of your daily value of vitamin C.

Strawberry Sorbet is a wonderful finale to your romantic heart healthy dinner. Too many strawberries? You can use any fruit to make a sorbet. How about a pineapple sorbet? Pineapple has many benefits including aiding in digestion. Add a little mint garnish for fresh breath. Many people don’t think about the nutrients in mint leaves. They contain vitamin A which promotes healthy skin.

There are a lot of wonderful healthy options for your romantic dinner. If you’re eating out think about sharing dishes to cut down on calories and follow with an after dinner walk. Walking hand in hand is not only romantic but also it helps to speed digestion and lower blood sugar levels.
