Have You Ever Visited a Digital Escape Room? by Jackie Zataweski

Are you one of those people who read a mystery and know who the culprit is long before the end of the book?  Maybe you wish you could match wits with Sherlock Holmes or Miss Marple?  If either of these descriptions sounds familiar, we have just the thing for you!

Several years ago, a new type of recreational activity came on the scene, escape rooms, and they’ve been gaining in popularity ever since.

Fans of mysteries now have a chance to see just how well they would do putting all of the clues together to solve puzzles, enabling them to break out of prison, retrieve King Neptune’s stolen trident, secure a record deal, and more.

Friends and family groups are playing just for the fun of it, and coworkers are playing as a team-building exercise.  Of course, with so much of the country staying at home right now, a physical escape room probably isn’t an option.

For your quarantine entertainment – and beyond! – You now have the option of a digital escape room.  Shortly after the closing of Pennsylvania libraries was announced, Peters Township Youth Services Librarian Sydney Krawiec created a digital escape room with a Harry Potter theme.  Others soon followed suit, giving you the opportunity to rescue Baby Yoda, escape the Sphinx, solve a murder, or enjoy dozens of other virtual adventures.

Are you ready to test your problem-solving skills?
