Next Month in This Awful Awesome Life - September 2021

Thanks for reading the August 2021 issue of This Awful Awesome Life! We hope you enjoyed it.

Next month the kids will hopefully all be back in their classrooms. If this is important to you, please make sure to get both doses of the vaccine and be ready to receive a booster if the CDC deems it necessary. Get your kids ages 12 and up immunized and be ready to immunize younger children as soon as the CDC gives the okay. Please present a positive attitude about vaccines, mask wearing and social distancing to your kids. We just don’t know enough about the DELTA variant to know if we’ll all need to return to wearing masks again even if we’re fully vaccinated. The lives of our children and our most vulnerable may depend on how we respond to new variants. I know we’re all tired of living in fear, but I’m more tired of watching my friends and neighbors lose loved ones to this virus.

September is Banned Books Month and we’ll be featuring the latest information from the American Library Association about censorship and banned books. Who are your favorite authors? Have any of their works ever been banned?

Lilly Kauffman will be back with a humorous back to school tale and Orlando Bartro will surprise us by putting a unique spin on his topic of choice.

Linda Cahill will have delicious recipes courtesy of Pampered Chef. Our September soup will be Tomato Basil paired with a grilled cheese. I’ll be making a traditional grilled cheese and a vegan option with tomato slices and vegan cheese.

We’ll have a new quiz, a book review and reading recommendations for kids and adults plus much more.

Until next month, Stay Safe. Stay well. You are important and you are loved!

All my best,

Fran
