December is the start of the new year. It’s time to leave our regrets behind and move forward… a little wiser and hopefully with more compassion and empathy.
Whether you’re living in a winter wonderland or hanging out at the beach, make the most of being outdoors.
Eat delicious food and enjoy being active.
In addition to the new year, we are celebrating Martin Luther King Jr’s birthday and honoring his legacy.
Not everyone winter’s well. Some of us may be lonely, sad, or in need. Please take a moment to remember our most vulnerable members of society who may be experiencing food scarcity, poverty, or homelessness. Consider donating to community food banks, clothing drives, and halfway houses.
Now is the perfect time to clean out your closets and kitchen cabinets to make room for the gifts you received during Hanukkah, Christmas, and Kwanzaa. Warm clothing, socks, scarves, blankets, backpacks, gently used toys, books, puzzles, games, or kitchen items (can openers, pans, utensils, plates, bowls, or cups) mean a lot to someone in need. People are hurting and it’s only going to get colder.
