Twitter Flames: Part II, London by Em S. A'cor: A Review by Fran Joyce

In honor of Valentine’s Day, I reviewed Twitter Flames: Part II, London by Em S. A’cor.

Em S. A’cor is the pen name for Dr. Maria Simbra, the subject of one of this month’s Q&A features.

In Twitter Crush, the original book in this series, we meet Dr. Marisol Cruz an attractive dermatologist. Marisol has a thriving practice in West Virginia. After her husband’s death from ALS, she buried herself in work and raising twin daughters. Her daughters are now in college in Pittsburgh.

While visiting them, she meets Dr. Greg Kaczmarek, a younger dermatologist she’s been conversing with on Twitter. Marisol has developed a secret crush on the attractive and brilliant dermatopathologist. Sparks fly and despite obstacles they begin a relationship that continues to evolve in the Twitter Flames sequels.

We reviewed Twitter Crush in our May 2024 issue (Twitter Crush by Em S. A'cor - A Review by Fran Joyce — This Awful-Awesome Life).

In June 2025, we reviewed the first book in the Twitter Flames series, Twitter Flames: Part I , Home (https://www.thisawfulawesomelife.com/home/2025/5/31/twitter-flames-by-em-s-acor-a-review-by-fran-joyce?rq=Twitter%20Flames%3A%20Home%20).

In Twitter Flames: Part II, Home, Marisol’s and Greg’s relationship hits a seemingly insurmountable snag (no further spoilers, but this is a series you want to read in order).

In Twitter Flames: Part II, London, Marisol is off to London determined to enjoy the trip she’d planned to take with Greg.

In the lobby of her hotel, she notices a young attractive man.

She sees him again the next morning at breakfast. He introduces himself as Eric Wiles, a photojournalist working on an article for a travel magazine about women traveling alone. Do they prefer traveling solo? Where do they go? What attracts them to the city? He thinks she would be the perfect subject to feature in the article.

Marisol is wary at first but warms up to the opportunity of seeing the city through a Londoner’s eyes and having her trip documented by a professional photographer. Eric is friendly, intelligent, and seems genuinely excited to spend time with her. He listens attentively, and he’s generous with his praise. He makes her feel desired… more than just an assignment.

For a woman in her fifties nursing a broken heart, he is the perfect medicine. When Eric mentions how nice it would be to have someone like her accompany him on his photo shoots around the world, Marisol allows herself to dream about that level of freedom.

Could this be the start of a new chapter for Marisol? What about Greg and her responsibilities at home… her medical practice and her daughters? Would she leave it all behind if Eric asked? Will they, won’t they?

To find the answers to these questions, you need to read the book. To fully enjoy the series, start with Twitter Crush and proceed in order. I’ll be reading Twitter Flames: Part III, Nebraska while you catch up.
