November 2025 Reading Recommendations for Kids and YA by Fran Joyce

Now that the weather is getting cooler, kids will be spending more time indoors. Some of that time should be spent reading for fun, not just reading for school. One of our most important parenting opportunities (notice I didn’t refer to it as a job or a responsibility) is to help our kids fall in love with reading permanently.

Encourage them to talk about their interests and help them find books they will enjoy. If they’re at the age where they think they’ve outgrown Mom or Dad’s input, let them do their own thing or encourage them to seek help from a librarian. Some of my favorite childhood memories are the days my mom would load us up in the car and head for the downtown library.

This month we have an eclectic selection of books for kids and YA. Enjoy!
