February 2026 Reading Recommendations for Kids and YA by Fran Joyce

It’s cold and snowy in many parts of the world. Many kids are stuck inside because of freezing temperatures or hazardous windchill factors. They can easily get bored with scrolling or flipping through TV channels.

You can try board games or video games and hope your kids don’t end up fighting over who won, or you can give your kids books they will enjoy while you enjoy the quiet.

We’ve selected an eclectic mix of books for different ages including the debut novel of a middle school student, Berkley June Hutson. It’s in the fantasy genre, and hopefully, you will be reading more about this young author soon in This Awful Awesome Life.

Enjoy!
